Week 21-Easy As Pie

Since high school, we have been friends.  We stay connected, but may not see each other for months, even years and yet easy as pie, our conversation takes up where we left off.  Early on, we lost our dear sweet Meigan who died far too young.  Meigan became my first friend at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek when we both moved during the Spring of our freshman year. Ann, Sibel and Tiana  from high school days were my bridesmaids with Cheryl, my maid of honor, from college. Since December, I have been able to see or talk by phone with these four girlfriends.  Life has taken us many directions and places, but we somehow keep track of each other even if just in our thoughts and prayers. (Facebook helps too!)

I am grateful for the women in my life past and present from grandmothers, mothers, sisters, daughters, and girlfriends.  These many kindred spirits named and unnamed in this post are trustworthy, dependable, empathetic, non-judgmental, a good listener, confident, humorous, and fun to be with.  Each one near or far blesses my life.  How lucky I am to have made such friendships whether as a child, teenager, young adult or later in life.
