Week 22-The Giving Cake

Last Saturday evening Rick and I attended a church cake auction to help raise money for girls' camp in our family ward. Cakes of all shapes, sizes, colors, and flavors decorated the cultural hall. So many cakes, cookies and other desserts captivated even those strong-willed persons dedicated to keeping their new year's resolutions to lose weight.  Right away, Rick saw the cake for him:  a white icing with fresh raspberries on top and scrumptious lemon cake inside.  Luckily for both of us that cake found its way to our home for a treat that did not disappoint.  On Sunday evening friends came over to enjoy a piece of cake and it was worth the wait.  On Monday evening we had just enough to slice three pieces to celebrate our dear friend's birthday.  Now the cake that dazzled and delighted us is gone, but oh how it brought us so much joy.  Thank you to the young woman who put her talents, heart, and soul in creating the delicious cake which kept on giving.  We only hope we will be the recipients again of such a sweet cake that made life even sweeter and to follow her example of bringing joy to others.

Thank you Peyton!
 Happy Birthday Kellie!
