After returning to California from taking care of my sweet grandchildren in Utah, I had the privilege on Saturday to learn a tiny bit from two masters--Sydne Miles and her daughter Hillary Beamish--as I helped them prepare the flowers for Josh and Alyssa Bromley's wedding. Sydne and Hillary both have such a talent for creating beautiful bouquets, arrangements, and decorations to make an already gorgeous wedding even more so. Their creations come forth from an understanding of each individual bride's wishes, knowing good color and flower combinations, and having the patience to persevere even under extreme pressure which a wedding presents.
This does not even begin to account for the planning and purchase of flowers beforehand nor on the day of the handling of weather conditions and hours of standing on your feet. My new experience gleaning knowledge from these very gifted and talented women made me appreciate what they have done for years for so many. Most of all, they bring light and love with each flower they touch more than once I might add. Each flower together with other flowers chosen for this special occasion are given honored places in the various arrangements to beautify and exude joy.
Like the flowers themselves, I feel honored to have been a part of this lovely new behind-the-scenes experience with two of the most creative people I am blessed to call my friends to celebrate the marriage of two of my favorite young adults from Tri Valley Ward.
