I drive a mere eight minutes to Walnut Creek, pay the meter to park near the corner of Ygnacio Valley Road and California Boulevard and meet my husband for lunch at Sweet Affair near his new office. Though he officially won't work in his new location consistently till July, others in his firm are already doing so. We ate our sandwiches across from Target marveling that he was so close to home instead of across the bay in San Francisco. We have dreamed of this for years and years. Now our dream will come true just five or six months from now. He will still need to go to the San Francisco office once a week or so especially during busy tax season, but it will not be the five-day-a-week commute that he has made since December 31, 1989. Dreams are worth waiting for!
