I could have gone home after just 24 hours in Maui with our family for so many sweet, precious moments had already occurred. First, we all arrived safely from California and Utah to Maui, managed to fill our rent-a-cars with people and our car specifically with all that we could possibly need or want from Costco and Kmart for breakfasts and snacks during the week, and checked into our rooms at the Sheraton at Black Rock Resort. That evening, we found ourselves together around an outdoor table at the hotel enjoying dinner. Rick and I were at one end of the table like birds in the air observing the blessings of our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren. Seeing them smile, tease, laugh and share left our hearts content. The next morning all thirteen of us attended the Lahaina ward for church. The rest hymn between talks was "I Stand All Amazed" which is one of my favorite hymns and Mae stood on the chair hugging me singing the chorus "Oh it is wonderful . . ." into my ear with her spirit radiating such love. We later found Mae, Henry and Huey singing Bapa's made-up song "We All Live on a Red Donut" as they floated in the lazy river on red bean bags with Bapa. After dinner and Hula Pie, Rick gave a spiritual thought about the importance of the temple, we played a guessing game, and then we sang Old MacDonald for the kiddos. It does not get better than this and we still have many days more--feeling very blessed!
Rick, Charlotte, Seth, Jaclyn, Ryan, and Cameron
flew from California while Brett, Juliann, Mae,
Henry, Huey, Chad and Jenessa flew from Utah
to Maui for the week of Thanksgiving. Half the
group arrived early so we ate a yummy lunch at
Mama's Fish House which was a new place for us!
(The rest of the group will go on Tuesday.)
