April 22 is the largest civic event in the world where people come together around the globe to care for our environment. Because California is in a serious drought, our family has decided to put buckets in our showers and use the excess water to water our plants. We still are watering our yard two days a week and I would even like to water more just before the wedding, but for now we are trying to do our part. Rick and I recall in the 70's putting bricks in our toilets before updated mechanisms were invented to allow less water when flushing. The worst droughts in California have been from 1928-1935, from 1976-77, from 1987-1993, and the current one we are in. The good news is that rain comes eventually, but the poor farmers may lose everything before then.
