When they smile, I smile back.
When they laugh, I laugh more.
When they talk, I listen.
When they cry, I comfort.
When they try, I cheer.
When they fall, I help them up.
When they color, I color too.
When they want cookies, we bake.
When they want to pretend, we play.
When they want to go to the park, we do.
When they want to go down a slide, I come too.
When they want to read, we find a book.
When they want to hide & seek, I count.
When they want to tumble, I watch them roll.
When they want to sing and dance, we have a party.
When they want to snuggle, I hold them tight.
When they want to pray, we fold our arms.
When we kiss goodnight, I watch them fall asleep.
Tomorrow they will want to do it all again
And more than ever I will too.
Day 3 of my countdown lands on my granddaughter Mae's seventh birthday so I chose to write about the fun we have together along with my two grandsons. I love being their Marme! My only wish is that we lived nearby, but I am so grateful for the time we do get to be together. And, whatever did grandparents that lived far away do without Face Time? I love our Face Time chats, Instagrams, and photos we share.
